Dr. Andreas Kronfeld

TUM AMBASSADOR 2023

Batavia, United States

Distinguished Scientist, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, US Department of Energy

TUM IAS Hans Fischer Senior Fellowship

Several TUM stays: 2012-2023 with Professor Nora Brambilla, Theoretical Particle and Nuclear Physics & Professor Antonio Vairo, Applied Quantum Field Theory (Physics)

TUM host Professor Nora Brambilla:

„Andreas Kronfeld is a word leading scientist in the field of particle physics, particularly in computer simulation of quantum field theories. Together we have established a very productive TUM-IAS focus group on effective field theories and lattice gauge theory.“

TUM Ambassador Dr. Andreas Kronfeld:

“My association with TUM, which began with a short visit in 2012 and deepened as a Hans Fischer Senior Fellow 2014–2017, has enlivened me as both a researcher and a person. My collaboration with Prof. Brambilla and Prof. Vairo, postdocs and students led to new insights into quantum chromodynamics (the modern theory of strong interactions of atomic nuclei) and increased my breadth as a scientist.”
